Fashion has a cause.
On August 28, 2009 at the NBC Tent, Bonifacio Global City, renowned fashion designers in the country will come together to celebrate women empowerment and support cervical cancer awareness.

There will be four special segments to showcase the inspired creations of the designers. The collections to be featured in each segment aim to dramatize traits of women esteemed in the field of medicine — traits that likewise cancer patients embody, in spite of having been afficted with the disease.

For the finale, the cancer patients themselves will grace the runway.

This charity event hopes to bring light the issues on self-image that concern women, most especially cancer patients. It aims to promote a positive outlook and a pro-active stance in enhancing one’s self-image in the face of this disease.

This event also hopes to empower cancer patients in general to face life with renewed vigor, hope, and confidence.

The event is organized by MU SIGMA PHI SORORITY, the first duly recognized medical sorority, not only in the Philippines, but also in Asia. As it celebrates its 75th year of foundation, the Sorority reaffirms its thrust in women empowerment through its health campaign. With cervical cancer as one of its advocacies, the MU SIGMA PHI SORORITY has chosen the Cervical Cancer Prevention (CECAP) Program Network of the Cancer Institute Foundation, Inc. (CIF) as one of its major beneficiaries.
