Welcome! Ukay-Ukay…This Way

Most of the outfits I feature in my style trip posts are from ukay ukay or thrift shops. Then, I incorporate it with clothes from selected brands. Take for example, from this snapshot from Rcxy, the long sleeves low v-cut is from a thrift shop in Crossings Edsa. I wore it over my Dean and Trent white v-cut shirt, paired it with Topman jeans and Zara shoes.

And so again, before embarking on a new work tomorrow, I decided to go for another thrift shopping. Welcome! Ukay-Ukay…This Way.

The street is Suarez in Palatiw Pasig. From Edsa Crossings, I took a jeepney ride going to Pasig Palengke. First shop I got in was filled with bags and shoes.

Price varies on the quality of the items. One bag for example is priced around PHP350.00.

Red shoes on the bottom left is around PHP800.00

Second stop, I found this double breasted military trench coat. For PHP35.00, I didnt think twice! Perfect for December breeze and for office set-up.

I was also looking for a pair of trousers. Luckily, I saw this black one together with a Tough Jeans. I tried it on, but the fit wasn’t good, so it was a no-no.

On the third shop, these three items caught my attention. An Armani white long sleeves, a suit  and a blue long sleeves with prints. After trying all, I decided to go for the blue long sleeves for PHP50.00.

Along the street, is a shoe shop. All are made from Marikina. If I remember it correctly, the slippers cost around PHP500.00.

Next stop, I saw these three items: a biker jacket and two pieces of suit. I wanted the biker jacket, but I think it is made for countries with winter season.

I tried the suit ( center from the photo). The fit is perfect and the cut is very clean. For PHP200.00, I was on a cloud nine!

While I was about to pay, I noticed the tattoos in her arms.Lola was stitching an item from the shop.

I also bought a classic Levi’s long sleeves for PHP130.00 from the same shop.

In the next shop, I bought this Izzue v-cut black shirt with buttons in different colors, adding twist to the regular. Plus the cool fabric and the air-conditioned shop, I said okay for PHP140.00.

I was also able to hunt another V-cut shirt with a nice graphic printed in it.

And a regular black long sleeves perfect as an office attire.

Total damage for 7 items: PHP855.00.
Time consumed: Approximately 3 hours.

But for people who find a sense of relief from buying and wearing clothes, the damage is more like a spark of joy! :-)

      Hi Marl,
From Crossings, infront of Shangri-la, you can take a jeep going to Pasig Palengke, then ask the driver to drop you to Suarez, Palatiw. It is near Pasig Church and Capitol. Or you can take a cab from Crossings. The street has around 9 thrift shops. :-)
