20 days

I seldom write on this site since I revamped its content and format last year, from the original one which contains some personal thoughts, and experiences. But this time, allow me to do it again. For 20 days, I was out of my second home, Singapore, where I work and live. I went to 5 cities: met and photographed people mostly in the street: my dream as a street fashion photographer.

It is a great learning experience, but also a sort of realization process, as the more I get in touch with local people in each city, the more I learn about the other fashion in life: not in the clothes that are worn but the way to live life. Mayhaps, it is the modernity of the city or the everyday endeavor at work, that when I saw Maya’s beautiful smile, it gave me a sense of relief or when I conversed with WongSio Ngan, I learned to be more grateful.
That 20-day adventure remind me a lesson: it is fine to appreciate fashion and style that comes with clothes and the beauty of its donning, but acknowledge more the fashion that is defined by how life is lived and how it is celebrated.
