Colin Faulks
Colin Faulks is a graphic design educator at LASALLE College of Arts. He believes that the art scene in the city is evolving, compared to the first time he arrived in Singapore, 5 years ago. “Yes, its definitely moving forward. And while much of the growth feels commercially driven, I’m also aware of more things happening at a grass roots level, which is really exciting.”
If an opportunity arises, Colin travels. His favorite cities are Berlin and Tokyo. “I visited Berlin as an art student in 2005 and I think I just really appreciated the spontaneous energy of the arts and music scene in the east of the city. Tokyo, I’ve visited twice in the last 5 years and both times its just been a feast for the senses. There’s a sophistication in Japanese visual culture that is quite unique, and as a designer I find that very inspiring.”
