Tokyo. In celebration of the opening of Ermenegildo Zegna store opening in Ginza, the fashion house launched a capsule collection that merge the Italian design and Japanese craft. Titled “Made in Japan”, the collection is a trans-seasonal garments from the iconic Zegna Couture, entirely made in Japan. The idea is to merge the Ermenegildo Zegna Couture culture with traditional Japanese heritage in fabric development and fashion-making. This exclusive Limited Edition Collection is designed by Stefano Pilati and crafted by local artisans using Japanese materials .
In conjunction with the unveiling of the collection, five personalities – wearing the clothes from the set -were photographed by renowned contemporary photographer Takasi Homma. The protagonists come from a different field: Ryo Kase is the actor and Shohei Shigematsu the architect; awarded with two Michelin stars, Zaiyu Hasegawa is the chef, while Kaie Murakami is the creative director and Keiichiro Shibuya the composer and musician.
“Made in Japan” was launched in Ginza Ermenegildo Global store last September 5th, then in Osaka on October 1st. Limited rollout of select styles will be distributed in New York 5th Avenue followed by worldwide fashion capitals later this year.
