Jerome Salaya Ang’s Spring Summer 2010 collection entitled “Garden Beyond Paradise” proved that his style is indeed synonymous to prêt-a-couture. Deviating prêt-a-porter by adding a couture twist .
What is your inspiration for your collection: “I am inspired by women , especially those from St. Tropez. I LOVE their style, their stories,everything! You can encounter all sorts of women in St. Tropez.”
What techniques and materials did you use? “Fabrications using different textures. I played with prints, patterns, draping, and lots of beadwork. Materials include silk jersey, printed silk chiffon and printed silk.”
What colors and why? “I started with red , white, and black because I wanted a continuation from my last season’s collection. And then it developed into magenta, aqua , fuchsia, and purple. These colors are so nice and pleasing to the eyes. It is about fun for summer seasons.”
What is your fashion philosophy? “Classic with a modern twist.”
